Middlesbrough v Manchester United Review

Yesterday started off as an awful day for me and it the United match with Middlesbrough really didnt help my mood, if you dont know and i cant believe that you wouldn't know- Manchester United were held to a draw at the Riverside.
The first 15 minutes were fantastic by United, we really looked like we could roll Middlesbrough over. Cristiano Ronaldo (what a surprise) got the first goal in the 10th minute, it was also his 37th goal of the season.
After the goal Middlesbrough changed their formation to a 4-4-2 which really gave us some problems. Middlesbrough came back into the game and looked the more likely to score, and in the 35th minute that was exactly what they did with Alves' first goal for Boro.
At that point Boro were coming straight at us and for the first time in the season our defence didnt look solid. Half time couldnt come sooner.
I was optimistic that Fergie could sort them out and we could come out for the second half and get a few goals, but that wasnt going to happen.
The next goal was going to be extremly important, if we got the goal then i could see us scoring another and winning the game, if Boro got the goal then we would be in trouble.
Alves had already scored his first goal and he went on to score a second. In the 56th minute Alves put Boro into the lead.
Park was brought on, which i wasnt sure about but he set up the goal for Rooney. Twenty minutes to go and United equalised with a goal from Rooney and i was starting to believe that we could actually win the match.
From then on it was end to end stuff, and both sides could have scored and won the match but it wasnt to be, the match ended in a 2-2 draw and we are now only three points ahead of Chelsea with the visit of Arsenal next Sunday.
There was some more bad news: Rio Ferdinand limped off during the match and he is having a scan today. It is not known how serious it is but the last thing we need right now is for Ferdinand to be out, especially with Roma on wednesday, Arsenal on sunday and no Vidic for a few more weeks.
I will bring you news on Ferdinands injury and soon as it is released.
Here is what Fergie thought
"I've said for a while the most consistent team would win and we have to maintain that consistency that we've shown these last few weeks,"
"We've got a point today from what I look upon as a difficult fixture.
"There were periods when I thought we were going to win it but, in the context of the whole game I thought it was a fair result. I thought it was a fantastic game of football, the pace of the game was terrific and you've got to give credit to our opponents. If we had scored a second goal (at 1-0) I think we would have gone on to win it."
