Manchester United v West Ham Review

We are now 90 minutes away from retaining the title!!!!
I am absolutly delighted, i was slightly worried about this match because we have not had good results against the Hammers recently, last season they did the double over us and we lost 2-1 to them earlier in the season, but this time we were at home.
Wayne Rooney didnt make it but he is expected to be fit for the final at Moscow on the 21st May, he could make the match against Wigan next sunday. Vidic is also expected to be fit for next saturday.

We got off the mark really quickly with an early goal by Cristiano Ronaldo, in the third minute, thanks to some awful defending by West Ham. The second goal was also an Cristiano Ronaldo goal but i am not too sure how much he knew about it. It didnt matter though because we were 2-0 up in the 24th minute. Two minutes later i was feeling an awful lot better because Carlos Tevez scored a stunning goal against his former team, to make it 3-0.
But then came a little bit of nervousness because Dean Ashton (who has recently been linked with a move to United) scored a fantastic over head kick in the 28th minute.
37minutes in came some stupidity from Luis Nani, he reacted in the West Ham penatly box to something that O'Neill did and he headbutted him (if you watched the Fiorentina/Ranger match then it was like what Cousin did). The referee didnt spot the headbutt but the linesman did and Nani was rightly sent off.
From then until the end of the first half was not nice, if the Hammers had scored then it would have brought them straight back into the match but we got into the break 3-1 up.
I was expecting West Ham to come out and attack us because we were down to 10 men, they threatened a bit, had more possession but we werent really troubled that much.
59 minutes into the match and it was all over, Carrick's shot deflected off O'Neill and went into the back of the net to put us 4-1 up and give us all three points.
Later on Ronaldo could have been sent off when he kicked Pantsil but he was only given a yellow card.
After that the match fizzled out, Fletcher came on and hit the post, Giggs also came on and he looked like he was up
for a goal but the match finished 4-1.
After the match there were a few words from Fergie- thanking the fans and coaching staff followed by a lap of honour because that was our last match at Old Trafford this season.

Overall it has been a great day (apart from the Nani sending off but that is entirely his fault). Ronaldo has brought his goal tally to 40 for the season, 30 of those goals came in the Premier League.
Chelsea play away at Newcastle and if they loose (which i dont think will happen) then United will be Champions due to our goal difference. If not, then we will travel to Wigan, who won today and now have nothing to play for because they can't be relegated.

It is refreshing for a Man U fan to admit that any sending off of a Man U player is the correct decission. I'll read with interest what the press or other websites make of it.

To be honest, i dont think any United fan can defend what he did. Hopefully Fergie will have a word with him and he wont do it again
