Anderson is set to miss the start of the season, not because he is injured although I don't know if he is still injured but he has been named in the Brazil Olympic Squad.
Anderson has been named as a regular under-23 player which means that United cannot refuse to release him.
Anderson is delighted to be called up, congratulations to him but I can't help thinking that it is a bit of a blow for United.
Anderson said: "It is a very special moment in my career.
"It is even more special after the excellent season that I had with Manchester United.
"I am certain that my move to English football helped me to develop.
"I am delighted that my work is being recognised."
Forgive my ignorance..... does he ever play for the "proper" Brazil team?
I'm excited for Brazil, but feel a bit sad for ManU. But, that's football.
antimanu: If you mean the senior team by 'proper' team then the answer is yes, he has played a few times for Brazil but you also have to remember that he is also 19.
jeff: thank you for replying, it is exciting for Brazil and Anderson but with all the talent we have I am sure we will be able to cope for a bit.
