Everton v Manchester United, Premier League Review

Yesterday probably one of the best draws for Manchester United after only drawing 1-1 with Everton and Rooney being pretty close to getting sent off against his former club but there is a match today which I am hoping ends in a draw- Chelsea v Liverpool.

During the first half Everton started off with a few chances but it was Giggs who got the first shot in which was saved by Howard, Fletcher also had a header which went just wide.
21 minutes in and we were 1-0 up with a third goal of the season for Darren Fletcher. Fletcher had a shot but that rebounded to Giggs, the Everton players were concentrating on Berbatov, Ronaldo and Rooney, they didn’t pick up Fletcher, Giggs thread a ball through to Fletcher who slipped the ball between Howard’s legs and into the back of the net.

After that, Manchester United were amazing, the one touch football was fantastic and we looked extremely confident, Giggs was brilliant throughout the first half, he looked like the Giggs that I watched when I was a bit younger.

The only problem of the first half was that we didn’t score another goal which would prove to be out downfall.

Second half and I expected United to come out and carry on where we left off, but Everton had other idea’s.

Throughout the second half they closed the United players down a lot quicker and they were also a lot more physical which we didn’t cope with.

United had very few chances on goal in the second half, Ronaldo had a stunning 30 yard shot which was tipped round the post by Howard and then Howard tipped round Vidic’s header to stop them from going 2-0 down.

There were a few tackles going in at this point, one of which was Vidic lunging in on former team mate Louis Saha.

64 minutes in and Phil Neville whipped in a superb cross and Fellaini headed the ball straight past Van Der Sar to put the Everton on a level scoreline.

During the second half the Manchester United defence looked incredibly shaky, Brown was fantastic during the first half, he made a few mistakes during the second but the main offender was Rio Ferdinand.

Ferdinand had a rush of blood to his head when Phil Neville went in on Cristiano Ronaldo and Ferdinand ran 40 yards to have a go at Neville, after that point Rio lost all of his concentration and made some horrible mistakes, one of which was a pass back to Van Der Sar which didn’t go very far and Yakubu was straight onto it but Van Der Sar got a hand onto the ball and the ball hit the post and rebounded away.

United did have a chance to win the game but he dragged the shot wide, if it was last year then he would have scored it.

I am disappointed in the draw but overall I think Everton worked hard for it and probably deserved it.
