Champions League Preview: FC Schalke 04 v Manchester United

After a 1-0 win against Everton at the weekend in the Premier League, Man United now turn their attention to the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final match against FC Schalke 04.

Schalke have won every single one of their home games in the Champions League this season. Man United haven't conceded a goal away from home in this season's Champions League, winning four out of the five away games and drawing only one.

Team News

Klass-Jan Huntelaar, Peer Kluge, Christian Pander, Mario Gavranovic, Christoph Moritz and Tim Hoogland are all out injured for Schalke. Benedikt Howedes is rated as doubtful.

Man United are without Dimitar Berbatov, who didn't travel due to a groin strain. Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Michael Carrick and Ji-Sung Park were rested for the game against Everton, they are expected to return to the side.

    This is going to be a very difficult game indeed as Schalke's fans are very noisy and will be well up for it. Im hoping for a win obviously but would certainly settle for a 1-1 draw. Given our current record against German teams im really nervous for this.
