Tomorrow evening Group C favourites Manchester United and Valencia CF will clash in Estadi de Mestalla.
Valencia started off their Champions League campaign with a convincing 4-0 win away to Bursaspor, Man United started theirs with a 0-0 draw at home to Rangers. After dropping two points at home to Rangers, United will be looking to pick up all three away from home.
So far this season, in all competitions, Man United have played 4 away games, winning just one and drawing the other three.
Valencia may have lost two of their biggest names in David Villa and David Silva during the summer but they’ve had a great start to the season. With five games played and 13 points picked up in the Spanish Primera Division, they currently sit at the top of the table, just ahead of Villarreal, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Team news for the home side is that Juan Mata is an injury doubt after he missed training with an ankle knock. Alejandro Dominguez was substituted at the weekend, picking up a slight hip injury but is expected to recover in time.
Man United will be without Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney, who did not travel out to Spain. Rooney and Giggs are both out injured, Scholes is being rested and Neville’s absence is not yet known. Antonio Valencia is also out as he’s recovering from a broken leg, which he picked up in the first Champions League group game.
Michael Carrick and Rio Ferdinand have travelled, both could feature. The last time Carrick played for United was as a 74th minute substitute in the 3-0 win against West Ham at Old Trafford in August. Ferdinand returned from injury in the first group game of the Champions League against Rangers. Since then he played the full 90 minutes of the 5-2 win over Scunthorpe in the League Cup.
Squad: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Amos, Rafael, O'Shea, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Smalling, Evra, Nani, Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick, Gibson, Park, Bebe, Berbatov, Owen, Hernandez and Macheda.
