Luis Nani’s sixth minute goal was enough to pick up a vital three points in their Champions League match against Bursaspor. All the talk ahead of the game was about Man United’s wantaway striker Wayne Rooney.
There was no Rooney but the crowd showed their support for the manager with a cheer as he walked out for the game. The fans also made their feelings clear to the striker with one banner saying- 'Colleen forgave you, Wayne, we won't’.
There were five changes to the side that started against West Brom with Tomasz Kuszczak, Chris Smalling, Darren Fletcher, Ji-Sung Park and Federico Macheda all coming into the team. Patrice Evra, Nemanja Vidic, Rafael da Silva, Michael Carrick, Anderson and Nani all kept their places.
Six minutes in Nani’s stunning strike from outside the penalty area was enough for a comfortable win. After taking an early lead it looked like Bursaspor could be on the end of a thrashing but there wasn’t much else worth talking about.
The positives were a clean sheet and United moved two points clear of Rangers at the top of the Group C table. Other than that it wasn’t a good game, poor passing and the players weren’t at their best.
