United Fans To Be Searched

Manchester United fans will be searched before the match against Reading on saturday.
Dog teams will be targeting supporters because Reading are trying to deter druggies.
Why have they decided to start doing this now, it seems like they are targeting United supporters and calling them druggies.
You don't want drugs in stadiums, fair enough, but why start this during the middle of the season? why not at the beginning of the season? Reading could be starting this now because they have a drug problem.

Mark Longden, from the Manchester United Independent Supporters' Association, said: "It sends out entirely the wrong message about the kind of person Manchester United are taking to games.
"I don't think we are a load of junkies. We are just going there to watch the match and are paying £36 to go into a theatre of entertainment.
"You are bound to get a damn sight more cokeheads at a play than you are at the Madejski Stadium."
"It's just absolutely ridiculous. Why do they want to criminalise football supporters?"We are probably second only to terrorists when it comes to peoples' perceptions of us."

Reading's health, safety and security advisor Clive Doyle said: "We have a responsibility to ensure those attending match days have a safe and enjoyable experience.
"The threat from drug misuse is small but, however small, it is significant when you have 28,000 fans representing a cross-section of society.
"We do not have a known drug culture at Reading and this programme among other measures can assist us in keeping it that way."
