Tottenham v Manchester United Preview

Tomorrow Manchester United face Tottenham for the second time in a week (we won last Sunday 3-1). This time we are playing them in the Premier League and Spurs are expected to field a totally different defence. The 3-1 beating of Spurs doesnt tell the whole story, the match was tight and we could have easily lost.
Last season United beat Spurs 4-o at White Hart Lane with John O'Shea playing the last part of the match in goal.
During the week both teams played Premier League matches with United winning 2-0 which also didnt tell the whole story- we could have beaten them 12-0. Tottenham played a 0-0 draw with Everton.

Tottenham:

Gilberto and Hutton are expected to make their Tottenham debut, captain Ledley King is being assessed.
Spurs striker Bent isnt quite ready to return and after Defoe's late move to Pompey Berbatov and Keane will play upfront.

Squad: Cerny, Robinson, Chimbonda, Lee, Gilberto, Hutton, Gunter, Kaboul, Dawson, King, Rocha, Tainio, Jenas, Malbranque, Boateng, Taarabt, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Lennon, Bent, Berbatov, Keane.

What Gus Poyet (Tottenham's assistant manager) had to say:
"We're at home so no matter who the opposition is, we want the three points. And we need three points, three points and three points in the games that follow.
"That has to be the mentality now if we want to break into the top 10.
"We have to control the game and not give United the chance to break, they are very good at that so if we push too many men forward, it will give Ronaldo, Rooney and co that chance.
"We need to control possession and not give away
the ball, because those players need the ball."

Manchester United:
United left out three players during the mid week match- Hargreaves, Tevez and Giggs, they could all return to the starting XI.
Saha and Neville are still injured so Tevez and Brown will probably play. Eagles and Pique are still struggling with injuries.

Squad: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Brown, O'Shea, Simpson, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, Nani, Park, Scholes, Ronaldo, Anderson, Carrick, Hargreaves, Giggs, Rooney, Tevez.

What Sir Alex Ferguson(Manchester United's manager) had to say:
" We saw last Sunday there is a wind of change at Tottenham, no question.
"The cup tie was terrifically open and for the first time in a few years at our ground there were some goals in the game.
"The games at Old Trafford have generally been one-goal affairs with more goals being reserved for White Hart Lane.
"Hopefully we can get the result we want but I'm expecting a very tough but open game."
