Bryan Robson has returned to Manchester United as a global ambassador. Robson has recently been Sheffield United's manager but the former United captain has returned to United.
"Since signing for the club in 1981, it has always been special to me," said Robson, who scored 97 goals in 434 appearances. "I enjoyed the happiest and most memorable times of my career at Old Trafford and it will be great to play a role in making the club even more successful."
Sir Alex Ferguson is also pleased that Robbo has returned:
"Bryan Robson was the outstanding player of his generation," United chief executive David Gill added. "Skilful, fearless and totally committed, he is someone who remains close to the hearts of anyone who saw him play.
"His relationship with Manchester United supporters is second to none."
