If Manchester United wanted to go through to the final of the Vodacom Challenge Cup then they had to win the match against the Orlando Pirates last night, which they did 1-0.
Wes Brown played the full 90 minutes of last nights match, whilst grieving for his half sister who sadly died the other day.
I am not going to lie and say that I knew about the Orlando Pirates, I didn't know that much at all about them but apparently they fielded a weakened team against United, the English Champion's and European Champion's.
You have to feel sorry for the Orlando Pirates because they are playing the Kaizer Chiefs tonight, which will decide who plays United in the final on saturday, just one day after playing United so I can understand why the coach would field a weakened team.

Martin had a good chance of putting United ahead but his shot was saved by the keeper, 23 minutes in Martin did take his chance and scored the only goal of the game. Martin was also brought down in the penalty area in the 39th minute and the Orlando Pirates were extremly lucky not to concede a penalty. The ref waved away the penalty, which Ferdinand didn't agree with and he ended up with a yellow card for dissent.
Early in the second half and the Pirates did threaten to score a goal but Tlou Segolela’s shot flew over the crossbar.
65 minutes into the game and the best shot of the match fell to the Orlando Pirates, Lebohang Mothibantwa (try saying that name) had a 25m (40 yard) shot saved by Ben Foster.
The Pirates could have equalised in the 79th minute but Ben Foster made a fantastic bullet shot save.
and finally......
There was a message for Cristiano Ronaldo...
