Champion's League Preview: Aalborg v Manchester United

It is the second match of the group stages tomorrow and in Group E Manchester United take on Aalborg and Villarreal take on Celtic, since this is a Manchester United blog I will be concentrating on Aalborg v Manchester United.

Manchester United flew out this morning with two star players staying behind, with injuries - captain Gary Neville and midfielder Owen Hargreaves.
Kuszczak hasn't flown out, instead youngster Ben Amos, who only made his competitive debut against Middlesbrough during midweek, flew out alongside Edwin Van Der Sar.

Here is the team that flew out:
Goalkeepers: Edwin van der Sar, Ben Amos Defenders: Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, John O’Shea, Wes Brown, Patrice Evra, Jonny Evans, Rafael da Silva Midfielders: Paul Scholes, Darren Fletcher, Darron Gibson, Ji-Sung Park, Nani, Anderson, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs Forwards: Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov.

After two stalemates in the first match (Manchester United drew with Villarreal 0-0 and Celtic drew with Aalborg) Manchester United will be looking for a win to hopefully go top of the group.
For me, Aalborg are a bit of an unknown team and Sir Alex Ferguson and Darren Fletcher have said that it will be a tough test.

Sir Alex Ferguson
"Aalborg were lucky to get a draw at Celtic, but they will be at home against us and my old mate Bruce Rioch will have them fired up.
"They are playing Manchester United, they will have a sell-out crowd and the whole town will be up for it. Danish clubs are always battlers.
"Having dropped two points in our first game, it is important we get it right against Aalborg.
"Going to Villarreal for a win will be very difficult, and the last thing we need is to be going to Parkhead needing three points to go through."

Darren Fletcher
"It is not going to be quite that easy to beat them," said Fletcher. "Aalborg might not be a household name, but this is the Champions League. It is a top-quality competition and they are a quality side.
"People might have discarded Aalborg, but that will only help them because there is no pressure.
"It is a game we will have to be on top form for. When you look at it, Aalborg's result at Celtic was a good one for us.
"But it is important we get a win tomorrow. The longer you go without one the more worrying it gets. We need to kick-start our Champions League campaign."

I am expecting a very tough test but hopefully after scoring on saturday, Rooney will have a bit more confidence and Berbatov could get his first goal for Manchester United in the Champion's League.
