Chelsea v Manchester United Review

After having a bit of time to think things through after the Manchester United match, I am fairly happy with the draw. We might have been leading until the 80 minute mark but with some of the chances that Chelsea had in the second half (especially Anelka) then I think it is a fair result, only just though.

There was some good news for Manchester United just before kick off when Deco injured himself during the warm up, I don't like seeing a player injured but he has been fantastic for Chelsea and it can only be a postive for United with him being out.
Manchester United started of terrifically, which stunned Chelsea, I think they were expecting us to have possession and move the ball around but we were straight at them,
Chelsea had another blow in the first half when Carvalho had to be substituted early on after some kind of injury.
Man United took the lead in the 17th minute after Berbatov's shot was saved by Cech but the rebound went to Park and he put the ball into the back of the net.
United had some fantastic chances during the first half but we didn't put the ball into the back of the net, Ferdinand had a shot which was well saved by Cech.
There was a negative for United in the first half though, Van Der Sar had to come of injured in the 30th minute, he was replaced by Kuszczak.

Second half and Drogba was straight on for Chelsea, well nearly straight on, Chelsea started off the half with 10 men for around 30 seconds.
Chelsea started off better than United and I was thinking that it is only a matter of time until Chelsea score.
54 minutes in and Ronaldo came on for Scholes who had a yellow card and looked like he could receive a second.
Anelka had some fantastic chances in the second half to equalise, he had a half volley which went wide but the best chance of the game fell to Anelka, around three yards out and the ball went through his legs, it was an empty goal and all he had to do was touch it.
80 minutes in and Chelsea scored, Rooney gave away a ridiclous freekick which resulted in a goal, Kalou was the score.

The match finished 1-1 but there were some positive and negative points for United.
The positives were that Manchester United played the best I have seen them play this season, we werent afraid and could have easily been 3 or 4 up in the first half.
The negative was the amount of yellow cards that received, and they were all justified, we could have had a few sendings of aswell, namely Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes.
Scholes, Ferdinand, Neville, Berbatov, Rooney, Evra and Ronaldo all received a yellow card which will result in a punishment by the FA.

It's not a bad result but we are 7 points behind Arsenal, the leaders of the Premier League but with a game in hand which is against Fulham.

I would have thought Man Utd would be happy with a draw at this fixture.

PS the problem I was having with your site seems to have gone away or is fixed :)

Man Utd are happy with a draw but it is a bit of a disappointment to be winning 1-0 until the 80th minute
