Derby v Manchester United Preview

Tonight Manchester United play Derby in the first leg of their Carling Cup Semi Final match. Last night Tottenham beat Burnley 4-1, so it looks like they have one foot into the Carling Cup final.

Carlos Tevez is back from Argentina for this match but after conflicting stories over his contract negotiations we don't know whether he is going to play or not.

Derby have defender Seb Hines available for this match after he has joined the club on loan from Middlesbrough.

Derby formally appointed their new manager yesterday (Nigel Clough) but he won't be managing this match, academy boss David Lowe will be in charge of this match.
Will the players react to his appointment? They will want to make an impression but
you never know what will happen when new manager come in.

This is going to be Derby's first domestic semi-final since 1976 and it is their first League Cup semi-final since 1968.

It is really difficult to predict the team that Fergie is going to send out, there are two legs against Derby and the second one is at Old Trafford, we also have a massive match against Chelsea this Sunday, so will he risk players such as Ronaldo and Rooney? I don't know.

If Derby can go through to the final then they have to get a positive result tonight, a loss for Derby and I think they will have no chance at Old Trafford, a loss for Man United and what a game we will have in store at OT.

Manchester United Squad: Kuszczak, Foster, Amos, Neville, Rafael, Vidic, Evans, O'Shea, Nani, Ronaldo, Anderson, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher, Gibson, Possebon, Giggs, Park, Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez, Welbeck.
