Southampton 0-3 Manchester United, FA Cup Review

What a great day it was yesterday, our youngsters showed what they can do, we went through to the forth round of the FA Cup and we were drawn Tottenham Hotspur in the next round.

I was impressed with every single Manchester United player yesterday. Nani looked good, he didn't look as selfish and most of his crosses in were high quality. Nani looked composed and confident when he scored the penalty.
Danny Welbeck also looked good and he also got a goal it may have been an easy goal to score but that will give him some confidence.

The first goal which was scored by Danny Welbeck could have been offside, there have been complaints from The Saints since the fulltime whistle but we have seen replays and some commentators still couldn't decide after seeing replays so I don't know how the linesman should have spotted it.
If it was offside, it was marginal.

Not long after the first goal, there was a sending off. Paterson was sent off with a straight red card after a high, nasty challenge on Nemanja Vidic. After seeing replays it looks worse each time I see it and I think it was a definite red and if it was a Man United player who was sent off for that challenge then I would have no complaints.

The second goal is definitely a debatable goal. Nani took a freekick from just outside the penalty area, one of the Southampton players had his arm up and at first showing it did look to me like it hit his arm. After watching sky and ITV some people think that it is a penalty and others think that it isn't.
I thought at first that it did hit his hand and obviously so did the ref but after looking at it again I think it hit the back of his head, so it is a hard one to judge because the ref only has a split second to make a decision.

There was nothing debatable about the final goal, some unselfish play by Wayne Rooney gave Darren Gibson a goal.

We deserved our victory yesterday, from start to finish Southampton never looked like they could win it and I think that if we hadn't had the penalty or if Saints never went down to 10 men then we would have got more goals and won it.

Next up in the FA Cup is Spurs at Old Trafford, last year we were knocked out by Harry Redknapp's Pompey when we shouldn't have been so hopefully Tottenham don't get the luck this year.
