Southampton v Manchester United- FA Cup Preview

Today Man United travel down south to Southampton in the third round of the FA Cup.
Yesterday Liverpool made it through by beating Preston North End 2-0 but it wasn't as comfortable as it should have been. Arsenal went through by beating Plymouth 3-1and Chelsea drew 1-1 with South End at Stamford Bridge.

After moving from Manchester I am not that far away from Southampton and I am surrounded by Southampton fans so the last thing that I want today is a loss but no matter what team Fergie puts out they should be good enough to beat The Saints.

Southampton are without Lallana and Holmes is doubtful but Surman has recovered from an ankle injurt and Schneiderlin is also fit to play.

Rio Ferdinand and Carlos Tevez are missing for Man United, Ferdinand has been suffering from back spasms and Tevez has been given time off to visit his family in Argentina.

Evra is still banned but he will return next weekend when Man United take on Chelsea in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

Man United haven't been knocked out of the third round of the FA Cup since 1984 which is around 24 years ago.

The Saints are currently 40 places below Man United in the league tables so we should really beat them but as you should know, anything can happen in the FA Cup as Man City lost to Nottingham Forest 3-0 at home yesterday.
