Manchester United v Wigan, Premier League Preview

Man United play one of their games in hand over Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea today at Old Trafford against Wigan. Fergie and many others have said that Wigan will prove a much sterner test than Chelsea did on Sunday which I agree with.
Wigan are a good team and Chelsea had a really bad match on Sunday which made it an easy win for United.

There has been some bad news for Man United before this match. It looks like defender Patrice Evra will be out with a foot injury for around 3-4 weeks. Rio Ferdinand will be out for around another 9-10 days, he should be back for the FA Cup tie against Spurs.

There is some better (only a little bit) news and that is that Wes Brown is close to a return after recovering from ankle surgery.

We are currently one point behind Chelsea and five behind Liverpool but with two games in hand so if we win this match tonight we will take a big step to getting back where we belong and that is at the top of the Premier League table.

We haven't conceded a goal since playing Arsenal early last November so if we don't concede a goal tonight then it will be our ninth consecutive Premier League clean sheet and we would be only one off the record which is by Chelsea and they managed 10 consecutive clean sheets.

There is no doubting that it will be an extremely tough match tonight but we want to retain the Premier League title so we have to go all out for the win (like we always do) and get all three points, especially since we are at Old Trafford.
