Last night midfielder Anderson returned for injury after playing for Manchester United's reserves 2-1 win over Manchester City. Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that Anderson is now in contention for playing in the final of the Carling Cup this Sunday.
"The young ones who have played in the League Cup will play in it," Ferguson is quoted as saying by Setanta.
"I'm not changing my mind on that one.
"The middle of midfield, though, is my biggest problem. I've got more options there than anywhere else.
"I've got Anderson, Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick and young Darron Gibson, who is coming on in leaps and bounds. It gives me headaches, but more options."
It is a nice headache to have for Sir Alex, and it would be great for United's youngsters to win the Carling Cup this Sunday.
Quick Note on the reserves-
Man United's reserves have now three successive league victories to their names, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team is doing extremely well and are now eighth in the reserve league table.
Here is the league table:
We have played three games less than City and if we win all three games then we will be on top by goal difference.
