Manchester United have defended their decision to remove comments made by Wayne Rooney ahead of tomorrows match against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Rooney did admit to "hating" Liverpool in an article on http://www.manutd.com/, but United removed the interview.
"In advance of the game we felt this was the best option," said a Manchester United spokesman.
"The comments are open to wilful mis-reporting and neither the club, nor Wayne wanted that to happen."
Rooney's words yesterday have caused a little bit (not too much) controversy, basically what he said is that he hates Liverpool, I don't see any problems in that, we are all entitled to our opinions.
What Rooney actually said was: "I'm very excited about the game because I grew up as an Everton fan hating Liverpool, that hasn't changed."
What is the big deal about that?
