Manchester United's current sponsors AIG will be on the Man United shirt for another year (after this season). Man United are lauching a new home kit for the 2009/10 season and it will have AIG's logo on it.

There are a few problems with that, United are currently printing the shirts now with AIG on it but AIG are trying to change their name to AUI.

The second problem is that Man United launch new homekits every two years, so we will have to buy a new shirt next season with AIG on it and then the following season we will have to buy the same shirt but with a different sponsor on it.

A Nike spokesman has said: "For the 2009-10 season all Manchester United shirts and training products have been produced with the AIG logo in line with the company's continued sponsorship of the club. The speculation surrounding AIG had very little impact on the process of manufacturing this product."
