What Has Happened To Manchester United?

It hasn't been the best of weeks for Manchester United, two matches, two defeats. The first was the 4-1 loss to Liverpool in which we finished with 10 men, the second was yesterday's 2-0 loss to Fulham and we finished the match with 9 men.

Man United were awful during the first half of yesterday's game. First half the only reason we were still in the game was thanks to goalie Van Der Sar. The first goal was a penalty and the offence came from a corner, Van Der Sar blocked Zamora's header, the rebound fell to back to Zamora who headed it towards goal again and Scholes blocked it on the line with his hands. He instinctively put his hands up and gave away a penalty and was shown a straight red card.

That was in the 17th minutes so we were going to play with 10 men for quite a bit of the match.

Murphy calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 Fulham.

Fulham continued to attack United and should have really been 2-0 up when Johnson miss controlled the ball and Dempsey smashed the ball well over.

Berbatov landed awkwardly during the first half and was replaced at halftime by Rooney, after the game Berbatov was seen leaving Craven Cottage with a cast on his foot.

Man United stepped up a few gears in the second half and could and probably should have had an equaliser. Fletcher's shot was saved by Schwarzer, Rooney's ball in was headed in at goal by Ronaldo but the ball was also straight at Schwarzer.

Park also had a shot blocked, the follow up effort was also blocked by Schwarzer, quite how he managed to keep it out, I don't know. It looked like it was just going to be a matter of time before we equalised but we were hit by a sucker punch.

Fulham scored their second goal after receiving the ball from a Man United attack, Gera had his back to goal he took the ball and flicked it past Van Der Sar to give Fulham a famous victory.

Rooney was on a yellow card after pulling back a Fulham player, he received a second yellow then a red after Man United's quick freekick was pulled back by the ref, Rooney through the ball back and was shown a second yellow.

I do have sympathy for Rooney because he was only throwing it to the spot where it should have been taken but there was no United player there and the threw it aggressively and the ref was stood there.

Fulham deserved their victory and if we win our game in hand depending on today's result (Liverpool play Aston Villa, I am expecting a Liverpool win) then we will be only four points ahead of Liverpool.

Luckily Chelsea lost 1-0 to Tottenham yesterday but I'm still not happy. I am only hoping that Liverpool have a bad game today and drop some points.
