Man United vs Almunia

We beat Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford last night and if you didn't watch the match then you would have thought it was a good score. The only reason that Arsenal are in this tie is because of their goalie- Almunia.

The only thing that disappointed me last night was that we didn't score another goal or two, we had enough chances too. It was a much better performance by Man United, over the last few months we have looked shaky and had some awful performances.

We looked fantastic and Arsenal looked awful and that is the thing that is worrying me. There is no way that Arsenal are going to be as bad as they were last night at the Emirates. All they need is one goal and they tie will be level, saying that if we score an away goals things change again.

The Man United goal came fairly early in the first half when Carrick set O'Shea up after Arsenal failed to clear a corner.

United started off the better team and Almunia was called into action straight away when he had to save Rooney's shot on goal with one hand. He also denied Tevez (who started instead of Berbatov) with one hand.

Ronaldo had an on target header turned over for a corner by Almunia and there were more chances in the first half.

Second half evened out a bit more, Arsenal had more possession but never looked like scoring. The best chance of the second half was when Ronaldo hit a short from 30 yards out and he hit the crossbar.

Giggs came on during the second half to make his 800th appearance for Manchester United and it looked like he had scored. Giggs did put the ball into the back of the net but the linesman (wrongly) ruled him offside.

I just hope that we don't end up ruing those missed chances next Tuesday at the Emirates Stadium.
