Many Aston Villa fans, Liverpool fans, Chelsea fans and even Arsenal fans have complained about the five minutes added on at the end of the 90 minutes, in the match between Manchester United and Aston Villa.
I think that four or five minutes was fair enough, and remember that Liverpool did have four minutes on during their match at the end of the second half, in which they scored.
Here are some reasons why I think that five minutes was fair enough.
- Gareth Barry was down injured for Aston Villa for a bit
- Carlos Cuellar was also down for bit (around a minute)
- For each substitution the ref will award 30 seconds.
- The Villa subs took ages to walk of the pitch, the ref even pointed to his watch
- James Milner took almost a minute to get of the pitch when he was being subbed
- Throughout the second half Villa were wasting time
- Goals take around 30 seconds to restart, there were two goals in the second half before stoppage time was added on.
In the end it doesn't matter, Macheda scored two minutes and 11 seconds into the five minutes added on.
Liverpool have benefited from quite a bit of stoppage time this season and I don't hear anybody complaining about it, so why are people complaining about it with Manchester United?

Well if you think so, I obviously am then. Quite why you think that, I'm not sure.
