Manchester United vs Porto, Champion's League Preview


Manchester United only had a matter of a day or so to prepare for the match tonight, the last time we played was in that fantastic 3-2 win over Aston Villa on Sunday. Porto played on Saturday night in their Derby match against Guimares, they beat Guimares 3-1.


Man United will be without Rio Ferdinand, Anderson and Dimitar Berbatov who are all injured but there is some better news. Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic come back into the squad, they were all suspended for Man United's Premier League match.


Hero of the hour, Macheda is in the squad and Sir Alex has said that he couldn't leave him out and he will start on the bench: "He will be available on the bench I think," said Sir Alex "I don't think I will be able to leave him out!"


Porto striker Lisandro Lopez is back for the club but Sir Alex is more wary of their Brazilian striker Hulk: "Physically they are very strong. They've got a good threat particularly from Hulk up front, he's a very good player,"
"At this stage it would be stupid for us to think it's going to be easy. We have to play full throttle."

Freddy Guarin has shaken off an ankle injury and he is in the squad to play United.

Porto are without Pedro Emanuel (captain), Nelson Benitez and Jorge Fucile who are all injured and won't play a part.
