Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has declined the opportunity to properly congratulate Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson after we won the Premier League on Saturday.
Rafa did say a few nice(ish) words but that didn't last long, what a surprise.
"I will say congratulations to Manchester United.
They have done well, but I do not want to say too much,"
Benitez was quoted as saying by the BBC after the title was decided.
"I prefer just to say well done to the club, a big club, a good club.
"Normally, you have to be polite and respect the other manager. During the season we have seen a lot of things that I didn't like, so that's it. [we have seen alot of things that we don't like either]
"I say congratulations to United because they have won. And that's it."
On the flip side of that, I have to think whether or not I would congratulate Liverpool if they had won the title. My answer to that is no chance. I would probably be in a miserable mood and I wouldn't say congratulations so you can't really blame him.
