Bring on Barca!

We played out a relatively dull match on Saturday with Arsenal, knowing that we only needed a draw to win the league and that what we really needed to do was keep our players fit for the Champions League final.

It was a milestone win for the club with us now matching Liverpool’s record of 18 League titles and we look forward to next year and making it 19! But before we get there we have the little hurdle of Barcelona standing in our way of retaining the Champions League.

Barcelona won the league at the weekend too, without even having to kick a ball which is good really since they lost 2-1 to Mallaga last night.

Chelsea should have qualified in place of Barca after some horrific refereeing decisions went against Chelsea but what we need to take from that game is that we cannot right off the Spanish Champions. They were very much the weaker team at Stamford Bridge but they scored and qualified, we need to be on top form to stop the likes of Messi, Iniesta and Xavi carving openings in our defence.

We need all of our players to turn up and play for the Manchester United Shirt. The climax to the season is coming at exactly the right time as we once again look hard to score against and as if we could score every time we go forward.

I expect Sir Alex will play a weakened team next week in the league as he looks to keep his top guys injury free and fresh for the battle, I don’t know about anyone else but I can’t wait of the game!
