It is quite refreshing to hear Michel Platini moan about a football club which isn't English. Normally he is moaning about Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool but this time it is Real Madrid in the firing line.
Platini told AFP, "These excessive transfers are happening almost every day."
"These transfers are a serious challenge to the idea of fair play and the concept of financial balance in our competitions"
"UEFA is working hard with clubs to set up a new set of rules... to clean up the system and give it a more solid, more transparent base.
"That is our top priority today".
Real Madrid have spent around €165 million on just two players in a matter of days which is ridiculous. I no that we accepted £80million, who wouldn't? But it is a stupid amount of money for one player even if he is Cristiano Ronaldo.
