Owen Has Medical At Man United

Football - Stoke City v Newcastle United Barclays Premier League
Yesterday, when I first heard that Man United were looking in to bringing Michael Owen to Old Trafford. I didn't think it would turn into anything, he is a good player but constantly has injuries.

This morning when I turned over to SkySportsNews and they are reporting that yesterday Owen had a medical on his knee yesterday and today he will have a full medical before completing a move to Man United.

If he does pass the medical then that has to be one of the surprise transfers of the summer. If you said to me midway through last season that we would loose Cristiano Ronaldo for £80m, and one of his replacements would be Owen, I would think you would be having a laugh.

So far, Man United have refused to comment. What we do know is that Michael Owen would be coming to Old Trafford on a free transfer because as of the 1st July he was a free agent.

Owen does have injuries, so I can't believe that he will be the only forward that we sign this summer. He is a bit like former Man United striker Louis Saha who had injury after injury.

One more thought, if we do sign Owen and he plays upfront with Wayne Rooney, they could become a fantastic pair and they could also be England's main two front men in England's World Cup next summer (assuming we get there).

What do you think? Could he be a good signing?

26 goals on 71 matches is actually not that bad. I think he has way to many injuries but if we will get him for free, why not.

Owen will not be or number one player, but as a substitution, why not?

Hi Stefan, thanks for your comment.

I don't think that it is a bad signing, what makes it sweeter is that Liverpool fans aren't happy.

He won't become one of Man United's starters but he could become like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and become a fantastic substitution.
