Man United striker Wayne Rooney has been hailed as the new Zinedine Zidane. Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has said that Rooney is Man United’s answer to Zidane.

Rooney had a fantastic match against Birmingham yesterday, he scored the only goal, he had quite a few great strikes at goal and he was a menace throughout.

"Rooney dips into all the little pockets, which makes him so hard to pin down," said McLeish. "He's a natural footballer, like Zidane and Platini."

Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson also agree’s that Rooney had got off to a great start.

Fergie said:"Wayne is off to a flying start and he took his goal well.
"With his goal in the Community Shield last week, hopefully he's on the road to getting a significant total for us this season.
"He's capable of getting more than 20 goals for us. We're not asking the impossible from the boy and hopefully he'll do that."

Wayne Rooney has been impressive throughout pre-season and yesterday so I am hoping that he can keep it up. I honestly believe that this is the season that Rooney will shine and we will see a more finished article.
