Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that the England International team needs striker Wayne Rooney more than Manchester United do. Rooney is a definite starter for both teams. As an England and Man United supporter, I would also say that England needs Rooney more.

Man United have replacements such as Michael Owen, Dimitar Berbatov, Federico Macheda, Danny Welbeck and Ryan Giggs can also play upfront. England really would struggle without Rooney, we do have replacements but nobody can replace Rooney.

Sir Alex said: "There's more expectation on Wayne with England than there is with us. England look at him as the No.1 striker. It seems to me they don't have a certain, definite partner with him”

"They talk about Emile Heskey, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe, whereas here he's got Dimitar Berbatov. There's not the same expectation on him all the time.”

All in all, both teams need Wayne Rooney!
