This morning I have already seen three stories on Luis Nani’s Man United career. The 22-year old made (according to wikipedia) only four appearances so far this season, but he has scored two goals.
After being left on the bench again against Bolton yesterday, The News Of The World believe that Nani could be on his way out of Old Trafford this January, being replaced by Valencia’s David Silva.
Silva has said that he would like to join Man United but Valencia want a lot of money for him and United aren’t willing to pay that.
Extrafootie agree with NOTW and they also believe that Nani will be shown the door in January and will be replaced by Silva.
The People have said that Nani is pleased with the start he has made to the season and he believes that there is more to come from him.
"Everyone knows it was more difficult for me when Ronaldo was here at United," Nani told The People.
"It was always difficult for the manager to play with the two of us together.
"But now Cristiano has gone I can show my ambition for the club and I am working very hard. I have pledged to myself that this is going to be my season.
"I am only thinking about this season. Forget the past. I want to be the man. I have a lot to do to show people my best because I haven't done that yet at United.
"I have played a lot of games and done some good things, but I need to improve."
The problem with Nani is that he has a lot of skill and pace but he is very inconsistent. He is now into this third season at Old Trafford but I haven’t seen much improvement since he has arrived.
We have plenty of youngsters coming through the ranks and with the performance Gabriel Obertan gave for United’s reserves during the week, it wouldn’t surprise me if he came straight into the first team over the next few weeks.
The other problem that Nani had is that in his first two years at Old Trafford he had to compete for a place in the side against the world’s best player Cristiano Ronaldo.
We all thought that this could be his season to shine but Ryan Giggs has had other ideas. Antonio Valencia is also coming into some form, he scored his first goal for us yesterday.
Nani is going to have a tough time getting back into the team.
