Premier League Preview: Man United vs Wigan

Premier League: United 1 Point From Title

Tonight Man United play their final match in the 2009 year, Wigan Athletic travel to Old Trafford.

Man United finally had four defenders starting in the match against Hull- Wes Brown and Nemanja Vidic recovered from injury along with Rafael da Silva. There are more players returning today- Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Anderson are all available to play.

Some sad news and Man United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar has taken compassionate leave after his wife suffered a brain haemorrhage. Van Der Sar will stay out in Holland with his wife, hopefully she will make a full recovery.

Wigan only have one injury problem, Mohamed Diame is out with a knee injury and that is it, all the others are fit.

Wigan haven’t been on their best run of form, they are without a run of wins in four matches. You can also say that Man United haven’t been at their best, a 3-1 win over Hull came after a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.

A win over Wigan tonight at Old Trafford will take United back upto two points behind leaders Chelsea, who beat Fulham on Monday.

Predicted Man United starting XI- Tomasz Kuszczak, Gary Neville, Wes Brown, Nemanja Vidic, Patrice Evra, Antonio Valencia, Michael Carrick, Paul Scholes, Ji-Sung Park, Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney.

Predicted scoreline- Man United 3-1 Wigan
