Man United may have won 3-2 against AC Milan in the San Siro last night, in the first leg of the Champions League knockout round between the two teams but it isn’t over yet. United midfielder Michael Carrick-who was sent off during the game- believes that there is still plenty more to play for.
"You would probably say we are favourites to go through but we know how important the start of the next game is," Carrick said.
"If we can get the next goal we will be in a great position but as things stand at the moment it's still in the balance.
"We have got to make sure we perform again at Old Trafford."
"We are playing well at the moment and scoring a lot of goals”
"Even after the bad start last night we were still confident that we could get a grip of the game.
"We played some good stuff in the second half and could have scored more. We were the ones looking more likely to increase our lead towards the end.
"It didn't quite work out like that but we were reasonably pleased with the way it turned out."
If United had won 3-1 then I believe it would be safe to say that the tie would have been over. A 3-2 win is an advantage to United but it isn’t all over and I am looking forward to a fantastic match at Old Trafford, which we should win.
