We all know Rafael Benitez needs his head testing, I just didn’t know that it was this bad. Benitez has said that he wouldn’t swap Liverpool striker Fernando Torres for Man United striker Wayne Rooney.
Rooney has been in a rich vein of form for Man United this season, so far scoring 32 (33 if you include the one in the Community Shield against Chelsea) goals in all competitions, compared to Torres’ 17.
"Would I swap Torres for Rooney? Not really," said Benitez. "Fernando is a fantastic player, and so is Rooney. He is very, very good, but Fernando is our player, the fans love him and we want to keep him for a very long time.
"He is so important to us. If he had been fit all this season, then the gap to the top would have been smaller. It would have been a different season for us if he had been injury free and played more games. If he is fit, he would score in a lot of games, as he has done this week."
I suppose Rooney is our player, the fans love him and we want to keep him, maybe I am being a little too biased but I would chose Rooney anyday.
