After todays World Cup results there are no longer any Man United players left in the competition.

England were knocked out after being beaten 4-1 by Germany, so Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick will be going on their holidays.

Man United’s new signing Javier ‘Chicarito’ Hernandez was involved in Mexico’s 3-1 loss to Argentina, scoring their only goal.

It may have been a miserable day for both England and Mexico but there have been a few positives. We saw glimpses of we’ll be seeing next season with Hernandez. If he can settle in quickly and get used to the English game then there is no reason why he can’t play a big part next season.

Also, all Man United players involved in the World Cup will now be able to take a break and get some much needed rest. They should also be back for pre-season and the start of the new season. There was a possibility that if any United player was involved further on in the competition, they may have missed the start of the new season.

Whilst there are no current Man United players left in the competition, there are some former players still involved- Diego Forlan (Uruguay), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Gabriel Heinze (Argentina), Carlos Tevez (Argentina), Juan Sebastian Veron (Argentina), Gerard Pique (Spain) and Jose Kleberson (Brazil).

One Response so far.
