Man United Sign Unknown Striker

July 18, 2010 - Guimaraes, Portugal - epa02252850 Benfica's soccer player Ruben Amorim (B), fights for the ball with Guimaraes, Bebe, during the City of Guimaraes Trophee soccer match held at D. Afonso Henriques Stadium in Guimaraes, Portugal, 18 July 2010.
It has been announced this evening that Man United will sign relatively unknown 20-year old Bébé, subject to a medical. Tiago Manuel Dias Correia (Bébé) had been linked with a move to Real Madrid but has now agreed terms with United and will undergo a medical on Friday.

The young striker only signed for Vitória de Guimarães five weeks ago, it’s believed that Man United will pay the buyout clause in his contract, which is rumoured to be around the £7.4m mark.

According to The Guardian, former Man United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz made the recommendation to Sir Alex Ferguson.

Bébé has represented Portugal in the homeless World Cup, he was brought up in an orphanage but has spent some of his life on the streets.

A statement released by Manchester United says: “Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with Portuguese club Vitoria de Guimaraes for the purchase of 20-year-old striker Tiago Manuel Dias Correia for an undisclosed fee, subject to a successful medical in Manchester later this week”.

He is now the eigth striker on United’s books along with Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen, Dimitar Berbatov, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez, Federico Macheda, Danny Welbeck and Mame Biram Diouf (who is currently on loan at Blackburn Rovers).

Trust in Sir Alex, he knows a player
    when he sees one

  2. I have watched a good few videos of this guy and he looks like one of those strikers that defenders hate! The ones that are big and strong and well able to make the smart turn. He's a little like Drougba but I'm not saying for a second that I'm a fan of that scum bag!

He's also came out saying Ronaldo was his idol, id love if he could make an impact just like Ronaldo did.

Bebé's mum was a mother to a number of children, too many for her to bring up so Bebé was of them that was left out on the Street. So I'm sure this is a pretty big thing for a player that played in a homeless world cup not so long ago. Ferguson already said he'll learn to play the United may and wont be rushed.

We have loads of strikers now but too many unproven ones so lets change that this season "Berbatov".
