Man United To Host Liverpool In The FA Cup

Manchester United have drawn Liverpool at home in the third round of the FA Cup.

Man United have already beaten Liverpool at Old Trafford this season, the game finished 3-2 to United thanks to a Dimitar Berbatov hattrick.

There has been a total of 180 games played between the two sides in all competitions. Man United have won 70 times, Liverpool have won 60 times and there has been 50 draws.

Out of the 180, United have played each other 15 times in the FA Cup. There are 8 wins to United’s name, Liverpool have won three times and there have been four draws.

Other notable ties see Leeds travel to the Emirates to play Arsenal, Chelsea play Ipswich at Stamford Bridge, FC United or Brighton will host Portsmouth and Man City are away to Leicester City.

The ties will be played on the 8th or 9th January 2011.

    honestly not too thrilled about this but at same time would love to hammer them like the last games scoreline didnt reflect. they never should have been allowed to score twice. Not sure about this though and i have a question for anyone out there would you field your strongest team for this, mix it with youth or go all youth/fringe players. Me i think i would do a mix well balanced team with the likes of rooney and Chicharito up top, fabio and rafael at left and right back, Smalling and vidic in centre of defence,midfield probably left to right Nani, gibson, carrick and obertan. hmmm would we have lindeburg by then if so i would play him in goal.
