Man United To Face Marseille In The Champions League

After qualifying top of their group, Manchester United were guaranteed a slightly easier draw than the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, who they could have drawn if they finished second.

Earlier on today Man United were drawn against French side Marseille in the next stage of the Champions League.

Marseille were in Group F along with Chelsea, who Man United play on Sunday. The two games between those two sides saw Chelsea win 2-0 at Stamford Bridge and Marseille win 1-0 at their ground the Stade Velodrome.

Man United currently have an unbeaten record in this years Champions League after four wins and two draws in the group stage. United conceded only one goal, scoring seven in the process. Marseille also won four times in the group stage but have lost twice. The French side scored 12, conceding only three goals.

In the other final 16 ties, Arsenal will play Barcelona, Tottenham have AC Milan, Chelsea face Copenhagen. Lyon were drawn against Real Madrid, Valencia play Schalke, Inter Milan have Bayern Munich and Roma will play Shakhtar Donetsk.

The first leg will be played on the 15/16 and 22/23 February. The second legs will be played on the 8/9 March and 15/16 March.
