British tabloid The Sun are claiming that Man United striker Dimitar Berbatov has been threatened by a known gangster over sex texts.
The Sun believe that Berbatov made a few moves on Bulgarian model Nikoleta Lozanova but her boyfriend Georgi "The Head" Stoilov was furious when he found explicit texts on her phone.
Stoilov is apparently part of one of Bulgaria’s most feared clan. A bomb in a lift blew up his father and other members of the clan in 2004 and ever since then they have been feared.
Whilst all this has been happening, Berbatov does have a girlfriend who he has been seeing for about three months; there have been rumours that she is pregnant.
Man United and Berbatov’s agent have denied to make a comment, but he friends haven’t.
Some people who are thought to be close to Berbatov have said that it isn’t true and that the woman is a ‘fantasist’.
The friends claim that she made up the texts to make her boyfriend jealous and when Berbatov received a reply from the boyfriend, he was surprised.
It was thought that the text from the boyfriend told Berbatov to stay away for his own good.
Berbatov has been quoted as saying: "I've met her once, when she was with Nikolai, but nothing happened."
A few things sprung in my mind straight away. Firstly, if he has only met her once and they were only acquaintances, how would she have his phone number?
The second thing is that Berba should be Ok, as long as he stays away. Can’t be too hard, can it?
Poor old Berba, things haven’t been going to well for him recently have they?
