Wigan v Manchester United Review

What a day it was yesterday for Manchester United. It was mixed feelings in my household, theres me who supports United so it was a great day for me, my sister supports Chelsea so she had to put up with me being happy. Finally my brothers are both Reading fans and with them being relegated it was an upsetting day for them. Back to Manchester United-

Before the match i was confident but there was a thought in my head that it might not go the way i wanted it to go. The first 15/20 minutes of the match was worrying me because United looked nervous and so was Fergie because he was out in the dugout which he only does when he is worried.

Wigan could have been given a penalty when the ball appeared to hit Ferdinand's arm in the penalty area but i think that it hit is shoulder and it rightly wasnt given.

The players could hardly retain the ball and it wasnt looking too good until Rooney was brought down in the penalty area and we had a penalty. There was no doubt in my mind on who was going to take the penalty- Cristiano Ronaldo. Unlike the penalty in Barcelona, Ronaldo looked calm and confident. He stepped up and put it into the back of the net. 33 minutes into the match and it was 1-0 to United and Chelsea were still at 0-0 against Bolton.

Before and after the penalty Wigan were trying their best and you have to congratulate them for that. During the first half Scholes should have been sent off in my opinion. He should have received a second yellow card but the ref Steve Bennett didnt give it to him which was fortunate for him and us.

Second half and there was another penalty shout for United, for me it was a stonewall penalty when Scholes was taken out in the box, the Wigan player didnt touch the ball at all.

At this point Chelsea had scored against Bolton, a goal by Shevchenco which meant that we definetly couldnt slip up.

Heskey nearly gave me a heart attack when he nearly scored from a corner but it hit the roof of the net.

Then came the substitution- Ryan Giggs on for Park. This was Giggs' 758 appearance which now equals Sir Bobby Charlton. It was fitting that Giggs went on to score the goal that would definetly hand United the title. 10 minutes from time Giggs cooly slotted the ball past the keeper and into the back of the net from Rooney's pass. That was it- we had the title!!!

Chelsea had obviously heard the news and they let in a stoppage time goal and finished Chelsea 1-1 Bolton. I hadnt realised that it finished as a draw until sometime after the match had finished.

The scenes after the match were amazing and we had rightly won the Premier League title for a 10th time.

    Well done!!!

Truly deserving for a team that has played with passion, pride, stylish and elegant.

This is how I would like the word Champions to be defined.

Now lets get the big one Moscow shall we.

As a passionate Carlos Tevez fan, I'm a happy man. He deserves this finest moment, perhaps the best possible to look back in his career.

I've made a special tribute to him on my blog. Would certainly appreciate all Man Utd supporter to drop some comment about him on my blog.

Your thoughts/opinion will be highly appreciated...

Great blog my friend. Finally I'm discovering blogs about United which I read with much interest since I'm a die hard United fan myself.

You've got a messy situation at your house my friend. I mean a Chelsea fan and 2 Reading fans is quite confusing. You must have several TV sets so everyone could watch his fav team when they play at the same time :p

Anyway it's been a great season, we are the Champions of England and could be crowned champions of Europe in 10 days time. Fingers crossed.

It is a messy situation but there are plenty of TV sets ;)

It has been a fantastic season and i cant wait until the CL final, hopefully we will win it and hopefully John Terry and Didier Drogba wont be fit in time.
