Euro 2008 has kicked off today, Switzerland v Czech Republic started it off but there were no Manchester United players playing. The Czech Republic won 1-0.
The second match of the day was Portugal v Turkey. Four Premier League players started, one of which was a ManUtd player. Three guesses who it was, you probably only need one guess though- Cristiano Ronaldo.
The other three players were - Ferreira (Chelsea), Carvalho (Chelsea) and Bosingwa (Chelsea's new signing).
Ronaldo started off upfront alongside Nuno Gomes and Deco. There were a few moments from Ronaldo but the closest chance he had was a freekick which was touched onto the woodwork by the goalie.
Portugal did score a goal in the first half but it was correctly ruled out for offside.
One hour into the match and Pepe scored the first goal for Portugal.
Seventy minutes into the match and the second Manchester United player was on the pitch- Nani.
Nani came on for Nuno gomes who gave the captains armband to Ronaldo.
Nani didnt make much of an impression but close to the end of the game there was a nasty challenge on him and for a few seconds it looked like he could be seriously injured.
Nani limped off but he came back on and looked fine.
Portugal scored their second goal in stoppage time when substitute Raul Meireles finished off a fine counter-attack which had involved Ronaldo.
