Vodacom Final 2008: Kaizer Chiefs v Manchester United Preview

Today is the Vodacom Final between Manchester United and the Kaizer Chiefs, one day before Manchester United take on Portsmouth in Nigeria.

Manchester United got to the final by drawing 1-1 all with the Kaizer Chiefs and winning 1-0 against the Orlando Pirates.
The Kaizer Chiefs got to the final by drawing with United 1-1 and winning against the Orlando Pirates 2-0.

The Kaizer Chiefs are sweating on two injuries, Jose Torrealba and Kaizer Motaung junior, both of the players are strikers.

Kaizer Chiefs Coach Ertugral: “It is a huge honour to play the best team in the world twice in the space of a week. We are keen to play them and learn from the experience.”
“Last time we played United they brought a second or more like a third string team. This time they have brought their best players. It is going to be another great game but I would be a fool to predict we could beat the best in the world in a final. We will certainly do our best.”

I am not expecting Wes Brown to play today because he is grieving for his sister who sadly died earlier this week. The gaffer is expected to field his strongest side even though we are playing Pompey tomorrow but I would prefer to win the Vodacom Final today and rist loosing a friendly against Portsmouth.

Sir Alex Ferguson has said: “Chiefs were the better side two years ago. But Pirates have closed the gap and are maybe now slightly ahead of Chiefs.”

I am expecting a fantastic match and I will give you a full review.
