Kaizer Chiefs v Manchester United; Vodacom Final Review

Yesterday was the Vodacom Final between Manchester United and Kaizer Chief's, a tough match was expected but it was a comfortable 4-0 win for Manchester United.

A strong United team started the match but some big names were missing for the starting line up but came on later which I presume was because of the Portsmouth match this evening and to give the youngsters a chance.
Starting United Line-Up: Kuszczak, Simpson, Vidic , Cathcart, O’Shea, Fletcher, Possebon, Carrick, Martin, Rooney, Giggs.

Kaizer Chief's starting line-up:
Khune; Tau, Bhasera, Nahayo (Tsotetsi 66), Quartey; Nengomashe, Zwane, Letsholonyane (Schalkwyk 46), Tshabalala (Nkambule 46); Mthembu (Motaung 38, Lebese 71), Torrealba (Bulu 66)Subs not used: Baron, Mathebula, Sibeko.

The Chief's started off a lot better than United, we just took some time to settle down into the match which was understandable because The Kaizer Chiefs were used to the heat that they were playing in.
Wayne Rooney was instrumetal throughout the match, and he sparked off the first good chance for United when he cheekily chipped the keeper which ended up hitting the roof of the net.
The Chief's winger Tshabalala looks like a good player, he was running at Danny Simpson at every chance he could get.
United looked on top and Rooney had two shots saved by the keeper but United could have easily conceded a penalty when Kuszczak raced out to collect Cathcarts header but he took out the Chief's player. A freekick also flashed just past Kuszczak's post.
The Chief's were coming back into the match so it was a fantastic time for United to take the lead.
40 minutes into the match and Giggs scored from Martin's cross back to him. It didn't only give United a 1-0 lead but that goal gave a charity called Goals For Miracles R100,000 (The charity was given R100,000 for every goal scored, which means that they received R400,000 at the final whistle.
This goal gave United the upper hand and it showed, we looked more confident again.

The second half and Eagles came on for Martin and Cleveley came on for Possebon.
Giggs was denied another goal, by a great save by the keeper, Rooney was on hand to score from the follow up but his shot was blasted into the side netting.
Cathcart also had a good chance to score but his header went wide.

57 minutes into the match and we finally got the second goal that we deserved. Rooney was definetly onside and he calmly netted his second goal for United in his last three starts.

Five minutes later Rooney then nodded down Simpson's cross for youngster Cleverley to score and make it 3-0 to United.

63 minutes in and three substitutions were made. Evans came on for Vidic, Gibson came on for Fletcher and Scholes came on for Carrick.

Rooney came off in the 66th minute and Tevez Came on . Campbell also came on in the 66th minute for Giggs. Campbell also beat the Chief's offside trap to make it 4-0 to United.

The fulltime score was Kaizer Chief's 0-4 Manchester United, with United picking up their first and hopefully not last piece of silverware of the season.
