Manchester United v Juventus Review

Before the match United fans got to see the two trophies that Manchester United won last season. So after seeing the Champion's League and Premier League trophies, we were looking forward to a good match against Juventus.

United starting line-up was a strong but you would expect that, especially with the Community Shield against Portsmouth coming up this sunday.

United Starting 11: Van Der Sar, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Brown, Fletcher, Scholes, O'Shea, Martin, Giggs, Tevez.

Juventus Starting 11: Buffon, Grygera, Mellberg, Legrottaglie, Cheillini, Camoranesi, Poulsen, Sissoko, Salihamidzic, Iaquinta, Del Piero

Not long into the match and Darren Fletcher has a good chance to open up the scoring but the ball went well over the goal.
18 minutes into the match and there wasn't really much to talk about, United were looking comfortable, passing the ball well but not much goal mouth action.
Juventus had a fantastic chance to open up the scoring when it looked like they had opened up the United defence but United woke up in time and got rid of the ball in the penalty area.
Scholes showed a few times what we all know, he can't tackle to save his life. Whilst Scholes couldn't tackle, Vidic was looking sharp and ready for the new season.
30 minutes in and you can't really see a goal coming anytime soon. Manchester United had had 51% of the possission with Juventus having 49% (obviously).

Second half and substitiutions before the second half kicks off.
Rafael Da Silva came on for Brown and Gibson came on for Fletcher for United.
De Oliveira came on for Iaquinta for Juventus.
Juventus got off to the better start but United woke up and got back into the match. The United players were working hard except for Van Der Sar who was really a spectator.
60 minutes in and it looked like Martin was in on goal but he forgot to take the ball with him.
65 minutes and Silvestre came on for Martin.
Van Der Sar made a couple of saves but they looked comfortable and not really a chance of going in.
Scholes had a shot on goal in the 66th minute but it was scuffed and well wide in the end.
It was looking more and more like finishing in a 0-0 draw and that was exactly what happened.
About six minutes from time and there was a bit of a worrying moment for United when Ferdinand came out of a challenge limping but he looked fine at the end of the match.
The good news was that Rafael Da Silva did look like a good player and he really did impress, I would like to see how his brother gets on.
