Liverpool v Manchester United Review

Yesterday lunchtime Liverpoool played Manchester United at Anfield, it started off with a fantastic start for the Red Devils but from then on it went down hill.

Berbatov started off for Manchester United alongside Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez.
United scored 2 and a half minutes into the match and Carlos Tevez put United in front after receiving the ball from Anderson.
United played well for the first 10-15 minutes, we were passing the ball well and looked like we could get a second goal.
Straight after United's goal Liverpool had a good chance but Dirk Kuyt blasted the volley just over the bar.
Liverpool also had another great chance when they had a corner, Van Der Sar flapped at the ball, Kuyt volleyed the ball from 5 yards out at the goal and Van Der Sar made a fantastic save with his legs on the goal line.
United wasted the freekicks and corners, which were mainly taken by Anderson but Nani came on in the second half and he was just as bad.
Tevez got sent off last weekend whilst playing for Argentina and he made another scyting tackle today on Arbeloa but he was only given a yellow card, I don't think it was a red card offence.
27 minutes on and United's defence made a terrible mistake which ended in a own goal for Wes Brown. It was awful defending, Van Der Sar knocked the ball into Brown and it ended up in the back of the net. The only Liverpool player who was anywhere near the ball was Riera and United should have dealt with it comfortably.
Just after Liverpool's goal, Tevez had a fantastic chance to score, it was easier to score than miss but he hit it over the bar.
34 minutes in and there was another big blow for United when Carrick started limping, he managed to make it to half time but he was substituted for Ryan Giggs at half time.
During the second half Michael Carrick joined the substitutes on crutches.
Second half and Liverpool started off just as well as they finished the first half. I have not seen Manchester United play so badly as they did in the second half for along time.
I can only remember one or two chances that United had but nothing really threatened the goal apart from a wonderful shot at goal from Giggs which was only kept out by a fantastic save by Reina.
77 minutes in and things went from bad to worse for United when Mascherano made a run down United's wing and managed to get the ball away from Ryan Giggs just outside of United's penalty area (which should have been knocked out by Giggs for a corner) and Mascherano knocked the ball back and Babel scored for Liverpool to put them 2-1 up.
89 minutes into the match and Vidic was given a second yellow card and sent off. We are now going to be without Vidic for next sundays match at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

United weren't at their best throughout the match and Liverpool took advantage of that and won 2-1.

However much it hurts to say but I can honestly say that we didn't deserve anything from the match but it isn't the end of the world and hopefully we can bounce back in midweek with a win over Villareal and then get something down at Stamford Bridge.
