Player Of The Week : Jonny Evans

Jonny Evan's is one of Manchester United youngsters who plays in central defence. Evan's was born on the 2nd January 1988 who started off his footballing carrer at Greenisland FC.

Evan's joined Manchester United in 2004 progressed through Manchester United's football Academy to play in several foreign tours in the summer of 2006. During his time at United he has been loaned out a few times, the first was at Royal Antwerp in 2006, he then joined Sunderland in the 2007-2008 season.

He made his Manchester United debut on the 26th September 2007 against Coventry at Ole Trafford in the Football League Cup (Carling Cup) where we unfortunetly lost.
Evan's had played for United so far this season when he played in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, he looked comfortable throughout the match.

In september 2006 Evan's was called up to the Northern Ireland squad even though he hadn't played a game for Manchester United yet. He made his debut in Northern Ireland's 3-2 win against Spain and he has kept his place ever since.

Personally things came to a head for Evan's when he was accused of rape at Manchester United's christmas party in 2007, he was bailed until 23rd february 2008. March 2008 and it was reported that Evan's will not be prosecuted.
