Celtic v Manchester United Review

What a night it was last night after conceding an early goal it looked like no matter what we did Celtic were going to win but the pressure paid off and and we ended up with a draw.

United went into the match with six changes from the 4-3 win against Hull at the weekend- Foster, Rafael Da Silva, O'Shea, Fletcher, Giggs and Tevez.

Celtic scored their goal in the 13th minute when Scott McDonald lobbed Ben Foster from 14 yards, it was a great goal which Foster could do nothing about.

Throughout the first half we only really had some half chances but both fullbacks (Vidic and Ferdinand) had a really good chance to draw us level from corners.

Celtic is a really hard place to go and it can be intimidating but there was only one player who looked intimidated tonight and that was Nani. He didn't settle into the match in the first half but I don't think he was the only one, I was really disappointed with our first half performance but the second was great.

So we came out for the second half needing to really score two goals. During the second half it was all Manchester United we had loads of possession but we still hadn't scored so Berbatov and Rooney were brought on, Tevez was taken off and he didn't look too happy about it.

We were frustrated again in the second half but 84 minutes in Ronaldo's shot was not dealt with by Celtic's keeper Boruc and Giggs pounced on the ball and headed in Manchester United's equaliser.

The match ended Celtic 1-1 Manchester United and that should be good enough to take us through to the last 16 but we still want to finish at the top and we have two matches to do that.

We should take some confidence from the second half into the match against Arsenal at the weekend in the 12:45 kick off. Quite why Chelsea or Liverpool can't kick off earlier because they played on Tuesday I don't know but we have the early kick off against Arsenal who also drew last night.
