Manchester United v QPR Carling Cup Review

Last night's win over QPR was a mixed result, it was great that we won and got through to the final eight but some of last nights performances were awful in particular Nani and Anderson.

Manchester United put out a fairly strong line-up with Kuszczak in goal, Rafael Da Silva, Neville, Evans and O'Shea in defence. Park, Anderson, Gibson, Possebon and Nani in midfield which meant that Tevez was the lone striker.

Throughout the match all it was, was Manchester United attacking with QPR leaving 10 men behind the ball. It was at Old Trafford so we should be used to that but the finishing last night was atrocious especially from Nani and Anderson who at some points in the game their shots turned out to be throw-ins for QPR.

QPR's first shot on goal was 15/20 minutes before the end of the match which just shows how one sided it was.
Manchester United got the goal that was needed in the 76th minute when Danny Welbeck was brought down in the penalty area and Carlos Tevez converted the penalty to give United the lead.

QPR did score not long after United's penalty but it was ruled out for offside by the linesman and that was correct. I think that most people were relieved when the flag went up because I don't think I could have gone on watching that match for another 30 minutes (extra time).

Lets hope when Berbatov, Rooney and Ronaldo are back at the weekend to play Stoke that their finishing will be a lot better and I would be surprised if a few of the more experienced players who played against QPR were dropped.
