Manchester United were expected to beat Sunderland easily but yesterday it wasn't as easy as everyone thought it was going to be, Man United only managed to break open the defence with a 90 minute goal by Nemanja Vidic.
Many people were talking before the match about who was going to start for Man United- Berbatov or Tevez? The fans favourite was Tevez but it was Berbatov who started upfront alongside Rooney.
Throughout the match I cannot remember a shot from Sunderland, they did have a freekick but it hit the wall.
United had most of the possession but there werent as many clear cut chances that there should have been. The first half seemed like constant Manchester United attacking. At one point Ronaldo fooled everyone in the ground and everyone who was watching the match on Setanta when he was lined up ready to take one of his trademark freekicks but instead he ran up and squared it to Rooney who had a shot and a deflection off Berbatov brought out a great save by the keeper Fulop.
Park had a chance to score when Rooney threaded a pass through to him but Fulop was there to block it.
With all of the possession it looked like it was only of a matter of time until Man United scored but the longer the game dragged on the more tense it became.
Tevez was brought on in the second half so at one point we had Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo and Berbatov on the pitch.
Anderson was brought on aswell and as soon as those two came on, Rooney went to the right and we stepped up a gear and looked a lot more settled.
We didn't have Rooney, Tevez, Ronaldo and Berbatov on the pitch together for long because during the second half, Ronaldo walked off and decided to substitute himself.
Ronaldo kicked the ball out of play, signalled to the bench that he needed to be substituted and walked off down the tunnel leaving United down to 10 men for a few minutes until Giggs was ready to come on.
Berbatov had a fantastic chance to open up the scoring but his header went just over the bar, Anderson had a chance to score with what looked like a tap in but he was stopped by a brilliant saving tackle by Taini.
90 minutes into the match and four minutes were added on, it looked like it was too late and that we had dropped two points but there was time for another chance. Carrick had a shot at goal but it took a deflection and hit the bar and fell right into the path of onrushing Nemanja Vidic who couldn't miss and the ball hit the back of the net and United had won the match.
During the match Rooney was given a yellow card which means that he will not be available for the match next week against Spurs, United will also be without Evra.
