United Win Comes At A Cost

Last night we had that chance to go second in the Premier League table but only if we won against Wigan which proved to be a very tough match like most predicted but we did win, it was only 1-0 (I am starting to get used to that this season) but it has come at a cost with a few players getting injured.

The goal came in under 60 seconds, I think it was around 51 seconds when Wayne Rooney slid Ronaldo's cross into the back of the net, minutes later he was walking off with a hamstring injury which will keep him out for around three weeks.

Later on in the match, around the 70 minute mark Carlos Tevez was limping and he wasn't looking quite right, after the match Fergie confirmed that he was injured, there have been no reports on how long he will be out for or if he will be fit for Man United's game against Bolton on Saturday.

Finally reports on SkySports this morning are saying that Jonny Evans picked up a little niggle, I would have thought that he should be OK for Saturday.

Back to the match, it was a tough match last night and it was just like Fergie predicted- it was alot harder than playing Chelsea.

Last night we looked poor and for the last part of the game when we went 4-3-3, we had no width and O'Shea was being bombarded and he needed some help. It isn't often that Man United have no width and we looked poor.

Vidic was my Man Of The Match, he was fantastic, when Evans or O'Shea were caught out, he was there to cover for them.

Tevez, like normal, played with his heart on his sleeve, he did have a great chance to score when he took the ball round the keeper but his touch was too hard and he couldn't put the ball into the back of the net.

Berbatov had a chance aswell but it went just wide, Berba was another player that didn't look quite right last night, he has a fantastic touch and he is a great passer of the ball but he wasn't yesterday.

Van Der Sar didn't have too much to do but he did do more than he did on Sunday against Chelsea.

I think that the better news for Man United fans is that we may have been poor, boring, flat (whatever words you want to use) but we still won and you win titles when you play badly but still get the three points.

We didn't concede a goal which means we have now gone 9 games keeping a clean sheet, if we go one more game without conceding a goal then we will match Chelsea's record of 10 games keeping a clean sheet. Personally I think we could concede on Saturday, may'be a 2-1 or 3-1 win for United.
